We are thankful to announce Arlene Johnson has joined African Reconciliation and Leadership Ministries (ALARM) as their Vice President of Resource Development. Arlene joins ALARM after a 12 year tenure at Awana, serving in roles including Regional Missions Director for the Pacific Rim and Director of Global Development for Direct Response Fundraising. Under her leadership, Awana’s international ministry grew by 40% in 6 regions. Prior to working with Awana, Arlene worked in the marketplace in marketing and business development roles with insurance companies such as Aon and Allstate.
As Vice President of Resource Development, Arlene will serve as a key member of the leadership team and hold responsibility for all fundraising and resource development activities in North America. She and her staff will work with major donors and churches to develop funds for the life-changing work ALARM is accomplishing, and manage the communications to donors and prospects.
Arlene’s personal experience living in Nigeria and working in Kenya and Uganda has given her a heart for Africa and the African people. “The Lord has graciously combined my for profit and nonprofit experiences for a time such as this – where I can maximize all that I know and apply my skills and knowledge base to a ministry like ALARM to help advance His Kingdom,” she shared with us upon accepting this opportunity.
