On September 1, 2015 Tom Kemner joined the World Impact team as the Major Donor Director. Tom brings over thirty years of leadership skills, marketing expertise and an established track record in fundraising. Tom’s vitae combines a strong record of service in a variety of not-for-profits, as well as individual and agency consultancies in a wide array of international to national to regionally-based organizations. His career has carried the theme of acting as a catalyst to implement higher yield in the full spectrum of fundraising including major gifts, estate planning, direct marketing, orchestrating institutional marketing theory and practice, and strong creative skills.
In 2002 Tom founded The Development Alliance, a consortium of Professional Consultants with expertise in major gift fund raising, marketing and institutional planning. Its model features the principal accountability of a specific consultant as well as the expertise and insight of the team via peer review. Most recently, Tom directed partnerships for Life in Abundance International. LIA is an African-based ministry that serves in eight African countries and the Caribbean. It empowers church and community leaders in some of the world’s most challenging places—equipping the church to be an agent of lasting transformation. Tom’s role included mobilizing all external resources including prayer, church and parachurch mission teams and funding.
Tom Kemner has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science Degree from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. He also holds a M.S. in Business Administration/HRD from National Louis University in Evanston, Illinois. Tom has served his local church in missions and as a worship guitarist. Tom and his wife Kathy will celebrate 29 years of marriage this fall. They make their home in Burleson (south Fort Worth, TX).
Tom says, “I could not be happier that God has called me to World Impact. I felt so encouraged and well-served by the Halftime staff at every turn. Every conversation in the interview process amplified my appreciation for WI and the gifted people God has brought to the team. I look forward to the things we can achieve together, to God’s glory.”
